Les semences furent an\u00e9anties. Le d\u00e9sastre fut si grand que les oeufs<br \/>de poule valaient aux environs de 25 et 30 sous la douzaine car les pondeuses<br \/>pour la plupart \u00e9taient mortes de froid, ainsi que les bestiaux dans les \u00e9tables.<br \/>On voyait tomber, gel\u00e9e la cr\u00eate des volailles, quand celles-ci avaient surv\u00e9cu<br \/>au froid. En 1765-66, les consuls de Limoges obtinrent de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00eaque qu\u2019il permette les aliments gras quatre fois par semaine durant le car\u00eame, seul moyen pour les habitants de renforcer leurs d\u00e9fenses immunitaires \u00e9prouv\u00e9es par un froid extr\u00eame.\u00a0<br \/>En 1788-89, le froid fut tellement rude qu\u2019il \u00e9tait devenu impossible de creuser la terre pour enterrer les morts. Les bi\u00e8res furent remises dans le s\u00e9pulcre de Saint-Pierre-du-Queyroix et dans le caveau situ\u00e9 sous la nef. D\u2019autres hivers remarquables ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recens\u00e9s en 1870-71, 1879-1880, 1892-93, 1914, 1929&#8230; et 1956, o\u00f9 l\u2019on battit tous les records. En effet, les donn\u00e9es restent trop souvent \u00e9parses et les informations disponibles concernent surtout le XVIII<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. De plus, les modalit\u00e9s de paiement sont diverses et le taux des r\u00e9mun\u00e9rations est soumis \u00e0 d\u2019importantes variations g\u00e9ographiques ou saisonni\u00e8res. Ces contraintes rendent difficiles les comparaisons rigoureuses entre les professions, les lieux et les \u00e9poques. On observe une grande diversit\u00e9 des salaires et des gages, pour m\u00e9moire :<\/p><ul><li>1 livre tournois = 20 sous (ou sols).<\/li><li>1 sou = 12 deniers.<br \/>Donc 1 livre tournois = 20 sous = 240 deniers.<\/li><\/ul><p>Le prix du pain (1 livre = de 300 \u00e0 plus de 600 g) :<br \/>1 pain de 4 livres : 8 sols en moyenne, mais 5 sols dans les ann\u00e9es d\u2019abondance c\u00e9r\u00e9ali\u00e8re et au moins 12 sols dans les ann\u00e9es de mauvaises r\u00e9coltes.<br \/>1 kg de pain blanc : de 0,40 F \u00e0 0,43 F de 1855 \u00e0 1913<\/p><p>Selon Vauban, pour une famille de man\u0153uvrier (quatre personnes dont deux enfants), la consommation annuelle de bl\u00e9, moiti\u00e9 seigle, moiti\u00e9 froment pour fournir du pain est de 10 setiers, soit environ 800 grammes par jour et par t\u00eate.<\/p><p>Pour comprendre et estimer le montant des salaires de l\u2019Ancien R\u00e9gime, il faut tenir compte de plusieurs crit\u00e8res :<\/p><ul><li>Le salaire des femmes et des adolescents est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement inf\u00e9rieur de moiti\u00e9 \u00e0 celui des hommes, et le salaire des enfants est inf\u00e9rieur de moiti\u00e9 \u00e0 celui des femmes.<\/li><li>\u00c0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur d\u2019un m\u00eame m\u00e9tier, les diff\u00e9rences de salaires sont li\u00e9es au degr\u00e9 de qualification.<\/li><li>Les r\u00e9mun\u00e9rations des travaux agricoles de la pleine saison (de mars \u00e0 septembre\/octobre) sont sup\u00e9rieures de pr\u00e8s du double \u00e0 celles de la saison morte (de septembre\/octobre \u00e0 janvier).<\/li><li>Les salaires sont plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s dans les villes et \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 des centres urbains que dans les zones les plus recul\u00e9es sans voies de communication.<\/li><li>Selon les situations, le salaire \u00e9tait r\u00e9gl\u00e9 \u00e0 la pi\u00e8ce (tant pour un produit fini), \u00e0 la t\u00e2che (tant pour la main-d&rsquo;\u0153uvre), \u00e0 la journ\u00e9e de travail (de 10 \u00e0 13 h), \u00e0 la semaine, au mois ou \u00e0 l\u2019ann\u00e9e. Les salaires \u00e0 la pi\u00e8ce, \u00e0 la t\u00e2che et \u00e0 la journ\u00e9e \u00e9taient rarement vers\u00e9s en argent liquide. marchands, aubergistes, cabarestiers, de n'avoir point \u00e0 donner ny fournir de vin \u00e0 aucuns habitants de la dite ville et paroisse de Plaisance pendant le service divin, sous les peines d'une somme de quatre livres d'amende et, en cas de r\u00e9cidive, de ce qui sera d\u00e9termin\u00e9 par nous maire et officiers de ladite municipalit\u00e9, le tout hors les voyageurs que nous exceptons. En outre de n'avoir point \u00e0 recevoir aucun \u00e9tranger chez eux de quelques qualit\u00e9s et conditions qu'ils soits sans donner avis et connaissance, sur le champ, \u00e0 nous maire ou premier
